NSMS Children's House
Ms. Dana & Ms. Terry - Bi-Monthly Newsletter - April 2nd
How are those kazoos working out? Students and faculty from Stony Brook's Staller Center brought their instrument petting zoo to our school on Friday. It was a truly great program. In addition to introducing the children to the string, horn and woodwind families of instruments, we also participated in our own rhythm stick orchestra. For the remaining fifteen minutes of the program, children were invited to "pet" instruments of their choice.
We continue to talk about seasonal changes in class. To our reading corner I have added the following books; The Imaginary Garden by Andrew Larsen, Quiet in the Garden by Aliki and An Egg is Quiet by Dianna Aston.
The swan in my neighborhood is still sitting on her eggs! This week I noticed that the turtles are out now too and soaking up the sunshine. See photo below.
Friday, April 7th will be our last day of class before we close for Spring recess. Wishing you all a nice break!
Kindly,
Ms. Dana
