Support & Empowerment Program
- Students can print the application and accompanying documentation (listed on page 2 of the app) in the Student Development lobby for free.
- All students must schedule a 20-minute intake appointment to turn in completed applications.
- Becky is more than happy to help any student with completing the application, so have them call or email her directly if they have questions!
If you are talking to a single-parent student who is in a Workforce program (or not sure) do not hesitate to send them Becky's way! She can tell them about SEP and even if they are not eligible, wants to make sure they have all the resources available to them on and off campus to be successful.

First person to solve the below puzzle receives a $5 Sonic gift card!
I have three daughters, and each has a brother. How many children do I have?
Email your answer to Natalie James. First person to solve the puzzle by emailing the correct answer receives a $5 Sonic Gift Card!
Thank you to Paul Hoffman for being our Sonic Gift Card donor each month.
Still trying to figure it out? Here is the answer to June's puzzle.
A hen and a half will lay an egg and a half in a day and a half. How many eggs would six hens lay at the same rate in six days?
We are told that: 1.5 hens will lay 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days. We can double the chickens (which would double the eggs): 3 hens will lay 3 eggs in 1.5 days. We can double the chickens again: 6 hens will lay 6 eggs in 1.5 days. We can now multiply the number of days by 4 to get to six days (which multiplies the number of eggs by 4).
Therefore 6 hens will lay 24 eggs in 6 days.
Congratulations to our June winner, Monique Hoskins!

We have more to celebrate!
We have an illustrator amongst us. Sharon Roberts is the illustrator of a book published by Barnes and Nobles' Nook Books. The book is called “A Different Kind of Hero” and was written by Sharon’s sister Susan Kocian and chronicles the story of giving her daughter up for adoption when she was only 17 years old. What an amazing accomplishment.
