Class of 2019 Tours High School Options Campuses
Campus tours are an important part of the transition to high school at Johnson Street. Rising 9th graders took advantage of Magnet Monday to see programs first hand. The tours were a collaboration between Claudia Eldridge, School Counselor, Amanda Eller, ELA teacher and the counsleors and administrators of the host schools.
Students Tour Sears Applied Technology Building
Former JSGS students led tours of the building where high school students attend college classes. Students must demonstrate a high level of character and maturity before they are allowed the privilege of attending college classes. It was great to see former JSGS thriving in this setting.
The Middle College at GTCC High Point
Counselor John Devonmille leads a tour of the TV production classroom which includes the green room. Students who want to specialize in media and entertainment production have a unique opportunity to practice their AV skills at this school.
"Failing to plan is planning to fail." --Alan Lakekin
To again quote Alan Lakekin,"Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it." If you have not already done so, contact Mrs. Eldridge to schedule your child's high school graduation plan conference. This 45 minute conference will provide you and your child with a roadmap to successfully reaching his or her career goals. Use the link in this flyer to email Mrs. Eldridge or call 819-2900.
