The following are the MCAS dates for RO this school year. Please make every effort to ensure you do not schedule anything that will take your student out of school during these dates.

Our school welcomed our EL Families to a potluck dinner last week. New families were given a tour, had the opportunity to connect with our EL teacher about service and support, shared a meal and connected with other families. The event was attended by over 50 people and was a wonderful night for these members of our school community.

A no-cost and easy way to raise money for the RO PTA is through Amazon Smiles. If you shop on Amazon, this is a matter of a few clicks to select Richardson Olmsted School as a beneficiary. Our PTA supports our school in so many ways including funding for a new playground, playground equipment, Boosterthon t-shirts for all students, a book vending machine, all field trips, enrichment programming, teacher appreciation, field days, yearbook, fifth grade final farewell and more!

At the RO PTA Meeting last night, we discussed the possibility of bringing back "Ace of Clubs." This was an after school program run by parent volunteers prior to the pandemic. Parent/Guardian volunteers ran clubs like "Legos,, "Chess Club," "Garden Club," "Kickball" and more one day a week from 3:00 - 3:45pm. We are curious to see if there are any parents that would be willing to run a club like this to begin mid to late March and run through the end of May.

If you would like to change your child's transportation to or home from school please send an email to roattendance@easton.k12.ma.us and the teacher on the same email before the start of the school day.

Before school is typically when teachers are able to read email.

By emailing before school, everyone (teacher/student/office) will be aware of the transportation arrangements, therefore students are not wondering about their transportation all day. Also, we would rather not disrupt the classroom by calling the classroom midday or afternoon to share a transportation change for one student. By communicating your transportation request BEFORE school. we will not have to make an announcement over the loudspeaker to the entire class.

The Yearbook Committee is accepting photos for the 2022-2023 yearbook. Pictures should be from various school or class events and should feature RO students.

Information on how to order a yearbook will be communicated around early 2023.

In order to help defray/cover the costs of transportation and entrance/registration fees for enrichment activities, the Easton Public School system has been collecting activity fees. Because of these fees, our district is also able to send our students to Sheep Pasture/NRT for enriching outdoor learning throughout the year. It is a valuable and unique learning opportunity for our students.

The elementary fee structure is $45.00 for grades 1-6.

For your convenience, payment can be made through the following website: www.myschoolbucks.com. If you are only able to pay by check, please make the check payable to Easton Public Schools and in the memo, please indicate it is for the student activity fee and include your child’s name. We do not accept any cash payments. Please ensure you do not pay more than once. Unfortunately, the system does not prevent this.

Please do NOT use the MySchoolBucks app. It is not functioning properly at this time.

Please note: Students who are on free/reduced lunch are exempt from this fee.
