R School Today- Daily Health Screening

Please be sure to complete the Daily Health Screening for your child each day they will be on site at Franklin School. All students must be screened no later than 8:20 am on the days they will be in person at school. If you do not complete the screening, your child will not be permitted into class until the screening is complete. We will contact you should this occur.

Healthy Choices

With Morris County being in the orange zone (High Activity Level), it is important to remember the NJDOH's recommendations for schools. Please note as per NJDOH guidelines as they pertain to COVID-19 exclusion criteria, students who are ill with COVID-19 symptoms should stay home until at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset or if asymptomatic 10 days from the positive test and at least 24 hours have passed without fever-reducing medications and improvements in symptoms. Please note- WITH A NEGATIVE COVID-19 test and a symptom-free 24 hours without fever-reducing medications, the child CAN return.

Student Drop Off Safety Procedures

Once your child exits the car in the morning, please refrain from driving through the parking lot and engaging with your child. We have heard several "near misses" in the mornings due to this distracted driving. Should you wish to wait until your child is in the building, please pull into a legal parking spot during this time. Be sure to back out slowly and carefully as you exit. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Students Streaming Into Class

Students will only be allowed to stream into the classroom for Covid related reasons. All students streaming in need to be approved before beginning to stream into the classroom. Students who will be absent from school for non-covid related reasons or symptoms will not be able to stream into class.

Covid related reasons include:

  • Covid symptoms being experienced by the student, siblings, or any household member
  • Required school quarantines
  • Sports or extracurricular activity quarantines
  • Student or anyone in the family with pending Covid test results
  • Direct contact with a Covid positive individual
  • Travel out of state as per NJ travel restrictions

If you are unsure if your child qualifies for streaming or feel your child needs to stream based on any of the above reasons, contact must be made with the School Nurse.

Please know that students who are streaming in will be marked "absent excused, virtually present."

Thank you for your cooperation.
