Hardrive HDD & SSD

Hardrives

HHD

HDD stands for hard disk drive. This type of hardrive is used in nomal desktops/ normal computers. This type of hardrive is quite wide and so only fits into certain types of computers. It is used to store and retriving digital infomation. Without one of these your files/pictures or music wold not beable to be saved. A normal HHD contains a disk which the infomation in printed on and an arm this is used to print on the file names. If you were to drop and HHD it would definatley damage/break.

SSD

An SSD stands for solid state drive. An SSD in theory has the same objective of storing and retriving infomation. Yet there is a big difference. If you have ever seen a mac book air or a iphone or a ipod then you will know that a HHD will not fit in them so this is a sort of smaller vision, except this does not include the disk or the arm. There are disadvantages to the SSD because they are more expensive and can hold less infomation.

Optical Drive

Optical Drive

An optical drive is something which you put a dvd, CD or blu ray into. They recive and store infomation from the disc. Most optical drives can record and run lots of different types of disc fortmats. The optical drive itself is around the of a thick book so it can easily fit into a computer. Except sometimes with the mac book pro it has to be produced smaller because it gas to fit in the laptop. The mac book air does not have an optical drive because it is simply to thin to fit any sort of disc into.

CPU

CPU

The CPU is basically the brain of the computer it tells to computer to load files and pages just like our brain tells us to walk and pick things up. This also called proesser. CPU stands for Cental Proessing Unit. it is meausured in GHz. The more GHz the CPU has the faster it works, and loads.

RAM

RAM

Ram stands for random acess memory.
