U.S. Surgeon General delivers Grand Rounds at JABSOM
JABSOM researcher wins prestigious award for minority scientists
A Native Hawaiian scientist at the UH Medical School is one of only fifteen in the nation to be recognized with the prestigious 2019 Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) Postdoctoral Enrichment Program Award. Beginning in September and over a period of three years, Dr. Andrew Kekūpaʻa Knutson will receive a total of $60,000 to help fund his research. He hopes to remain in Hawaiʻi and train the next generation of scientists, especially students who are Native Hawaiian. Read his story.

Get to know the new Department of Quantitative Health Sciences
The Department of Quantitative Health Sciences has officially become the new name to describe the duties of those formerly in the Department of Complementary and Integrative Sciences. It also is the home of two important JABSOM facility cores: the Biostatistics Core Facility and the Bioinformatics Core Facility, and it houses the Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research (MSCTR) graduate program, which offers two tracks: Clinical Research and Quantitative Health Sciences. Our new 'Imi are in class now! Dr. Ha took this lovely photo of them that you see at the right.
They are pre-selling boxes of Krispy Kremes for $12 a box to raise money for their service project with the residents of Kalaupapa on Moloka'i.
The hot donuts will be ready for pick up on: August 19th, 2019 from 8AM-4PM
in the JABSOM Medical Education Building (delivery may be set up in certain areas).
