What a treat! On Wednesday, September 15, we hosted our first in-person author event of the year. Thank you to author/cartoonist Stephan Pastis for an amazing assembly and to our special friend, Patty Norman of Copperfield's, for bringing this special event to our school. It was a great day to be a 4th-8th grade student at MCCV!

The Countdown is on!! Walk-A-Thon is next Wednesday!!

Thank you to everyone who has signed up and is gathering pledges! If you have not signed up, there is still time! It’s SO easy using PledgeStar. We have an opportunity for 100% participation this year as the Walk-A-Thon is taking place during the school day.

We will raise money and the kids will have a memorable time moving to a playlist created by our middle schoolers, getting the chance to DUNK a teacher from each grade*, possibly earn the opportunity to SLIME DJ, or our principal, Ms. Liza if we reach our fundraising goal.

Please go to the MCCV PTA website for more details.

Each participant will get a t-shirt (logo design by MCCV alumni Vita Langst), goodie bag, and popsicle on the day of the event. Check out all the amazing PRIZES.

Masks will be required during the event.

Lightweight, breathable masks will be provided; students may also choose to wear their own masks.

Our volunteer needs have been met. Thank you! Please note, all volunteers must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination status, per District policy, and only volunteers will be allowed on campus during the Walk-A-Thon events, also per District policy. Thank you for your continued understanding during this challenging time. Hopefully, next year, we can all be together again.

Your generous support and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated!

First Food Drive is THIS SATURDAY - September 18, 10:00am-4:00pm - Petaluma Market

This year, middle school students are taking on monthly food drives at Petaluma Market for Food For Thought. Food For Thought is an organization that provides healthy food and groceries to Sonoma County residents with serious or long-term medical conditions. We will be in front of Petaluma Market on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Our first food drive is THIS SATURDAY, September 18, from 10:00 - 4:00 at Petaluma Market. This month, we will be collecting peanut butter, almond butter, olive oil, and whole wheat crackers, and of course, cash donations. PLEASE COME BY PETALUMA MARKET THIS SATURDAY TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS’ EFFORTS!

With the delivery of soil last week the students have all taken part in filling garden boxes and pots to make way for planting seeds for the winter garden and spring plant sale. We have some garden projects coming up that we could use more hands with. If you would like to volunteer in the garden please come talk to Liza, Sarah or myself and we can put your contact information on our Garden Volunteer list and schedule a garden beautification day. You can also email Sarah Koniak ( to send us your contact info availability and what projects you would like to be a part of.
