Playposit Updates
April 2018
I recently spoke with Rob from Playposit, and he went over some pretty exciting updates that Playposit has been working on. Some of these updates you should already see and some will be up in the near future.
Your Profile!
The Profile option which used to look like the "old" version of Playposit now looks like the "new" version of Playposit and also has some cool new features!
- Google Classroom Sync - A sync option to sync your Google Classroom classes with your Playposit classes is there now.
- Instructor Privacy - You can easily control the privacy of the bulbs you create there.
- Bulb Defaults - You can easily control the default settings of your bulbs as well as the point value of the questions of your bulbs there too!
New Bulb Options!
One thing I love about Playposit is how well they listen to teacher feedback! Based on their work with teachers they have added the following things to allow teachers to more effectively share video lessons:
- You can set the point value of a question to zero if you would like now.
- You can now upload MP3 (sound) files to use in Playposit. In other words if you just have audio, you can turn that into a lesson now.
- You can now overlay your questions on top of the video if you'd like and not just have the pop up box to the side.
- You can set questions to durational. This means your questions will show up for a certain amount of time while the video is playing and not just pop up at the end.
- If you are creating a bulb with more than one video joined together, the change from one video to the next should be more streamlined.
- Students will be able to take time stamped, searchable notes on bulbs. These notes can be downloaded and printed if you like, and teachers can see students' notes!
- You can now add "hotspots" to videos for points of emphasis to highlight something in a video.
- You can now add informational slides on top of videos, in effect adding your own information to a video while it's playing.
Add hotspots like this box to direct student attention!
Students can take time-stamped, searchable notes that you have access to!
Add you own informational slides to videos!
