Trans Pecos

Overview of the Trans Pecos Ecoregion!
The Trans Pecos ecoregion is a part of Texas that is located on the "Far West Texas" region of the massive state. It contains the Guadalupe Peak, El Paso, and many more significant locations! The land their is mostly sandy, because of the arid climate.
Bighorn Sheep
These sheep have massive horns on there heads, which can weigh up to 30lbs! They were considered the most admired animals of the Apsáalooke AKA the Crow Nation tribe.
Antelope
Antelopes may be the most cute, yet interesting animals in all of Texas. They can run extremely fast, and can defend themselves from predators using their extremely strong horns.
American Black Bear
This ferocious creature is just about how scary an animal can be! It's massive teeth will help it catch its prey and defend it's family.
Yucca
The yucca plant is a specific type of shrub, normally located in the Central US region. It can store water in it's flowers which helps it survive in the arid climate.
Ocotillo
The ocotillo plant is a type of plant that grows almost exclusively in the Trans Pecos region. Although it may appear to be a cactus, it isn't a true cactus.
Creosote
Creosote is a plant that is used for its medical purposes. It is very common in desert areas with avid climates.
Weathering
Weathering in Trans Pecos is just like weathering in any other place. However, in the Trans Pecos region, the Guadalupe Peak is in it. The Guadalupe Peak was formed by all 3 of the processes, but mainly weathering.
Erosion
Erosion is when weathered materials are moved away, as you can see in this picture the rocks and gravel that was once there, is gone.
Deposition
Deposition is when the eroded rocks are deposited into other areas. In this photo, the rocks are built up since they are not in their original place.
Why Should You Come?!
The Trans Pecos region may be the least populated region of Texas, but it is also the coolest! In contains the Guadalupe Peak, The Big Bend Park, and many more amazing sites! If you visit the Trans Pecos region, not only will you enjoy yourself, but you will become smarter.
