Hi Hansen Students, Parents, and Families!

We hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful vacation week filled with opportunities for rest, relaxation, and joy! We have had a terrific first week back, filled with great energy as we charge ahead with strong and positive momentum into March! As a continued reminder, as part of our updated policy around face coverings , masks are now optional for students and staff in the building and on buses and vans. We encourage families to continue to make the decisions that are best for them and their student(s), and each choice will be respected and supported. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Creating A Culture of Achievement, Equity, Inspiration, and Joy!

IMPORTANT REMINDER : Changes to Start and End Time at Hansen

As some of you may know, the three elementary schools are in a rotation regarding start and end times, with each school being designated as the 'late school' for a two year period. For planning purposes, we wanted to share that beginning next year (the 2022-2023 school year), the Hansen School will be the late elementary school for two years.

Our start time will become 9:10, with student drop off beginning at 8:50 each day. Our dismissal time will be 3:25. Again, this switch will take place at the beginning of next school year, and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Hearing and Vision Screenings

Hearing and vision screenings for students in K-4 will be taking place on March 14th and 15th. Vision and postural screenings for Grade 5 students are scheduled to take place next week on March 9. Nurse Bethany will be sharing more details prior to these screenings.

World Language Week!

Next week, the Hansen is excited to celebrate World Language Week, along with our other Canton schools! At the Hansen, we are fortunate to have a diverse student population, with many cultures, languages, and traditions that are a part of our school each day.

Beginning on Monday, we plan to feature morning announcements each day that include a student greeting in languages other than English and also provide activities, coloring sheets, and books for read-alouds that celebrate other languages and backgrounds. It is going to be a great week and a wonderful reminder of the beautiful diversity that exists within our Hansen Community!

Scholastic Book Fair at Hansen

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the Hansen during the week of March 14 - 18! Thank you to our Hansen CAPT for organizing this experience for our students. Each class will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair during their regularly scheduled Library block, and there is also an opportunity for students and families to visit during the afternoon on Wednesday, March 16 between 3:00 - 6:00.

The CAPT is looking for parent/guardian volunteers to assist at the Book Fair, and if you are able and interested, you may sign up through this Sign Up Genius.
