FUN FACT! Christy loves to go RV Camping in Northern Michigan where she enjoys kayaking, boating and swimming.
2022-2023 is the Year to LOL at Patton!
After the past couple of years we wanted to kick off the 2022-2023 school year in a fun-filled way. Our theme for the year is LOL! We believe that the best learning happens when students and teachers are having FUN so our theme encompasses both LAUGHING OUT LOUD and LEARNING OUT LOUD. We like to say, "A laugh a day keeps the learning in play.". We had an all school assembly this morning to share our theme with all our Patton Panthers. We have an LOL bulletin board in our commons that we would love to fill with pictures of your child(ren) laughing. Please find or capture a moment when your child is expressing their joy through full-on, big belly laughter. Please send in a picture ~ 4"x6" ~ to your child's teacher that we can display it on the bulletin board.

DROPPING OFF FORGOTTEN ITEMS AND LUNCHES
When dropping off any forgotten items or lunches PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE ITEMS ARE LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME. This will ensure that the correct items are picked up by the correct student and minimizes any potential confusion.
SNACKS
Dropping snacks off during the day can be disruptive to the classroom so we would appreciate it if you could remember to send your child's snack into school with them in their lunchbox or backpack each morning. Permitted snacks are fruits or vegetables in their own skin.
LOST AND FOUND
Believe it or not, it's day 3 and we are already starting to accumulate items in our Lost and Found! Sweatshirts, water bottles, lunch boxes, sunglasses, oh my! If your child has missing items please have them come and check to see if it's in the lost and found. Please try and label clothing/lunch bags/water bottles etc. as it makes it much easier for us to return items to students quickly. Please feel free to take a peek when you are here for Curriculum Night on August 25th.
IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION
Please read the attached information from our CSN, Megan Evans. This was also sent out via email, but we wanted to be sure everyone received it. It has important information regarding health form submission deadlines, medications, forms for asthma and allergy medicine etc.
DROP OFF AND PICKUP PROCEDURE
We have been delighted to see some smooth drop offs and pick ups this first week - we know it can a hectic time of the day, especially in the morning, but we thank you for your patience. Patton's Traffic Team are on-site daily to help ensure cars line up properly and to help children exit from cars. We ask that you abide by their directions while picking up and dropping off as their top priority is student safety. School staff will begin supervising students at 8:50 am each morning out on the blacktop.
AFTERNOON PICKUP - SLIGHT PROCEDURE CHANGE
The Traffic team will be trying something new this year during afternoon pickup (3:35pm).
By now, you should have received a sign from your child that has their last name on it. If you are driving to pick up your child after school, please place that sign in the passenger side window or on your dashboard during pickup. This will help traffic volunteers ensure that the line moves swiftly.
Feel free to make a copy and give it to anyone else who may be picking your child up from school.
The Patton Traffic Team appreciates your cooperation and patience as they navigate this new process.
Please do refer to the below map for information re: drop off, pickup and where you may NOT park.
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH
Don't forget that our Back to School Bash will be taking place NEXT Friday - the 26th August! Hosted by our amazing PTA, this is a great way to meet new faces/reconnect with old friends after summer and maybe even capture a photo of your kiddos embracing the Patton LOL theme for the year!
SPIRIT WEAR - Sale Ends 6th September
The PTA is excited to partner with a new company for Spirit Wear this year to provide a broader selection of items. The sale store is live at this link and will run through Tuesday, September 6th at midnight. Each order will require parents to include their student’s and teacher's names. Deliveries will take place onsite at school the week of September 19th.
