Proclamation of 1763

King George forbids the colonist from moving into the Ohio River Valley because he does not want to pay for another war. The colonist feel betrayed.

Stamp Act of 1765

Colonist had to pay for a official stamp every time they bought paper and tea. They allowed people into homes to search for smuggled goods. The Colonists reacted immediately, asserting that the Stamp Act was an attempt to raise money in the colonies without the approval of colonial legislatures.

The Town Shed Acts of 1767

Tax on glass lead points paper and tea. They allowed people into homes to search for smuggled goods. The colonists felt that Britain had no right to tax them at all.

The Boston Massacre of 1770

British troops are a threat by the government. A solider had a argument with a colonist and struck him. A crowd gathered and thrown snowballs troops arrived. They called it shootings of the Boston massacre. 5 dead.The colonist were outraged.

The Tea Act

Paraliment agreed and passed the tea act allowed company to sell tea directly to colonist. They though it was unfair.

The Boston Tea Party

They put tax on tea only they can buy it from england now people smuggled it and and boycotted. They felt brave.

The Intolerable Acts

Prime Minister got mad from the parliment decided to punish boston. Acts had lots of effects. Quartering Acts required colonist to house british soliders. Colonists viewed the acts as an arbitrary violation.

Lexington and Concord of 1775

Military engagements outbreak of open armed conflict between kingdom of britain. The colonist felt nervous about more attacks.
