Racing into Summer

This is a school lunch contest that began Wednesday May 15th and goes through Wednesday May 22nd. One lucky student will win a fun summer prize basket.

RULES: You must eat school lunch EVERY day from Wednesday May 15th to Wednesday May 22nd. All who do will be automatically entered in the drawing.

Winner will be announced Thursday May 23rd.

LOST AND FOUND

A Lost and Found table is set up in the lobby and will remain up until the last day of school on Monday, June 3, 2019. Please be sure to check the items and take what belongs to you. After the last day of school, any items remaining will be donated to a local charity.


FROM THE CLINIC

Parents,

If your child has any medication in the clinic, please make arrangements to have these picked up from school by an adult by June 3, 2019. That adult will be required to sign out the medication. In adherence with the Warren Township medication policy, NO medications will be sent home on the bus. Medications cannot remain in the clinic over the summer. If you do not pick up the medication by June 3rd, it will be destroyed. This includes all over-the-counter medication as well as prescription medication. Reminder letters will be sent home during the month of May. For any questions, call the clinic at 317 532-3105.

TERRANY'S 4th GRADE RAP

We are so proud of Terrany Moncrief and her successful Flocabulary rap! She took it all the way to Nationals and then to the Board meeting! This is her family who came to watch her perform and celebrate her 10th Birthday with her. So proud of this young lady, one of Mr. Ecker's finest!

SAVE YOUR POP TOPS FOR THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Please save your pop tops and have your student bring them to school. We donate them to the Ronald McDonald House and they turn them into cash! The Ronald McDonald House mission is to provide comfort, care, connection and services to families of sick and injured children receiving care at Indianapolis-area hospitals.

WARREN YOUTH CHEER CLINIC

Elementary Summer Enrichment

Elementary Summer Enrichment

Warren Township will offer Summer Enrichment opportunities over the summer to elementary students, kindergarten-4th grade. There will be a charge of $10.00 per student, per class. More information about how to sign up will be available next week.

JUNE 10 – 14 at Liberty Park Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.

*Time Travel: Ancient Egypt—Have you heard of mummies? Pharaohs? The Egyptian

Pyramids? Come learn about Ancient Egypt this summer! We will build pyramids, make

mummies, dig for hidden treasure and learn how to write with hieroglyphics.

*Recycled Materials Art Project—We will be studying how to reuse materials to help the

environment. Students will create an art project out of recycled materials.

JUNE 17 – 21 at Pleasant Run Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.

*Cardboard Adventures—Playing with boxes can be so much fun! Take it to the next level and

those boxes into something even more imaginative. Students will be invited to use their

imagination and creative ideas to use cardboard and craft supplies to make a variety of creations.

*A Whirlwind Tour of Aerodynamics (paper airplanes)—We will learn the science behind flight and how

to construct a paper airplane. We will design various paper airplanes and test for the best results.

*iCreate on iPad—What do you want to create this summer? Minecraft codes? Stopmotion iMovies?

Games? Garage band music? QR codes? Join your Warren friends for hours full of creative fun; no

experience required.

JUNE 24 – 28 at Lakeside Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.

*Drumming All the Way—Students will be part of a collaborative group that will demonstrate the ability

to play together and support each other’s unique personal rhythm. Students will gain understanding of

importance of drum circles.

*Candy Experiments—We will conduct candy themed science experiments.

*Learning in the Garden—Hands-on learning about soil, plants, seeds, and many other gardening

related skills.

July 8 – 12 at Lakeside Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.

*Math Games Galore—Students will participate in fun and competitive math games with their peers.

Students will be able to make and take games at camp for at home play!

*Dinosaur Explorers—Explorers, be ready to learn about and investigate dinosaurs and fossils they left

behind for us to find.

*Understanding Robotics—Engineering is COOL! Using the components of a VEX IQ building system,

students will design, build, and test parts of a robot which include the drive train, lift system, and claws

in order to play the game, “Squared Away”.

*Let’s Play Piano—Students will be able to play simple songs using the 5-finger piano method.

CAR RIDER REMINDERS

Please use our car rider protocol when dropping off your student. Follow the cones. Stay in line and wait until your turn. When your vehicle reaches Door #15 an adult will assist and usher your student into the building. DO NOT DROP YOUR STUDENT OFF ON THE SIDEWALK IN ANY OTHER AREA OR IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING. This is a safety issue. Thank you!

PARENTAL BACKGROUND CHECKS REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER FOR GOLDEN CELEBRATION

Parents please come by the school office to pick up the paper work for a background check if you are interested helping with Golden Celebration Friday May 31st. This is required and it does take some time for us to process. We will also need a copy of your drivers license. Once approved your background check is good for two years.
