    Meet Our Special Guests

    Matthew Tod, Senior Partner, Customer Growth, Digital & Analytics, PricewaterhouseCoopers

    Matthew Tod currently leads PwC’s Customer and digital consulting team, where he helps clients use digital technology to transform their business to become truly customer centric. Matthew was previously founder and CEO of Logan Tod & Co, a leading performance online performance optimisation consultancy in Europe, helping achieve revenue and gross profit improvement for the e-commerce operations of leading retail, consumer, finance, media and travel brands. Logan Tod & Co was acquired by PwC in 2012.


    Before launching Logan Tod & Co in 2002, Matthew was Chief Executive at full service marketing agency Publicis NetWorks, London, a subsidiary of Publicis.


    PwC is a global audit, tax and business advisory firms. PwC’s advisory teams help clients across a wide range of sectors, advising on governance, regulation, risk, innovation and technology and strategy issues.

    Sia Houchangnia, Portfolio Analyst, Seedcamp

    As a portfolio analyst at Seedcamp, Europe's leading pre-seed and seed stage acceleration programme, Sia helps startups tackle their diverse business challenges, from recruiting to fundraising. He is also responsible for keeping the Seedcamp team informed of internet market trends and M&A activity in the sector.


    Sia gained experience crunching numbers and analysing data in large financial services companies such as EY and UBS but he quickly realized that he wanted to directly blend his interest in finance and his passion for internet startups in his professional life. He loves spending time with startups and understanding their challenges but he is also very interested in applying a more data-driven approach to early stage investments.


    Sia grew up in Switzerland and pursued his university studies in Spain and the UK. He holds a MSc in International Management from ESADE Business School, focusing on finance and entrepreneurship.

    Fergus Green, Policy Analyst & Research Advisor to Professor Stern, London School of Economics

    Fergus is primarily responsible for providing academic and policy-related research assistance and advice to Professor Nicholas Stern, Chair of the LSE's Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and former advisor to the UK government on the Economics of Climate Change. Fergus is also a Policy Analyst working on projects relating to international climate cooperation, climate policy in China, and various theoretical topics concerning the ethics and politics of climate change mitigation policy.


    Fergus previously worked as a lawyer specializing in climate change, energy, water and environmental regulation. He also engaged actively in Australia’s climate and energy and policy debate, writing for the Lowy Institute for International Policy as well as a wide range of print and online media.

    Esther Maughan McLachlan, Director of Communications and Networks, Forum for the Future

    Forum for the Future is an independent non-profit working globally with business, government and other organisations to solve complex sustainability challenges. Forum has worked in partnership with pioneering companies such as Unilever, Pepsico, Telefonica O2, Skanska and Akzo Nobel, with a particular focus on food and energy systems.


    Esther’s main role is to accelerate change by sharing Forum’s powerful blend of theories, tools, experiments and solutions with a much wider audience. Esther was previously communications director for the Sustainable Development Commission, an independent adviser on sustainable development to the UK government, chaired by Forum founder Jonathon Porritt until 2009.

    Orivaldo Barros, Director of International Development, BRE Group

    As Head of International for BRE Group, Orivaldo manages key international client accounts. He is responsible for developing an international strategy for BRE focusing on new and emerging sustainable construction markets across the world. In this capacity, Orivaldo established a partnership with the Brazilian government to create a demonstration park in Brasilia based on BRE’s Innovation Park model that showcases low to zero carbon buildings and communities.


    Orivaldo previously managed the National Refurbishment Centre, a joint venture between the BRE Trust and the Energy Saving Trust. Orivaldo played a key role in establishing a national consultation with over 50 partners to drive a step-change in the delivery of green refurbishment and retrofit.


    BRE is an independent and impartial research-based consultancy, testing and training organization, offering expertise in every aspect of the built environment and associated industries.
