What are the String Instruments?
In this flyer, you will learn about what the string instruments are, and how they are played.
Whole Entire String Family
The strings family is bigger than it looks. It will take a long time to lost all of them, so here are the ones on the poster: violin, viola, banjo, guitar, lute, mandolin, harp, sitar, cello, and the bass, or the double bass.
Main instruments
The main string instruments that almost everyone knows are the violin, viola, cello, and the double bass.
Mandolin
A mandolin is a musical instrument in the lute family and is usually plucked with a plectrum or "pick". It commonly has four courses of doubled metal strings tuned in unison, although five and six course versions also exist.
How The Instruments are Played
Mostly all of the string instruments are played by bowing or plucking the strings. String instruments make sound with vibrating strings, and the pitch is modified by the thickness, tension, and length of the string. String instruments can be played in many ways, and come in many variations. Cellos are usually played by sitting down.
