Upcoming Birthdays
R.C.- Friday, 5-19
L.P.- Monday, 5-22
B.W.- Tuesday, 5-23
I.P.- Wednesday, 5-24
Birthdays are an exciting time for second graders, so you are welcome to bring in birthday treats for the entire class of 26 students. We have life-threatening allergies in our class, so please be aware when buying treats. Stay clear of peanuts, nuts, soybeans, beans, and peas. Only bring in store bought items, so we can check the ingredient list in case there are any questions. Please be aware of allergies so everyone in the class can celebrate your child’s birthday.

Math
Finishing the year learning about geometry. Their last Math STAR graphs have been sent home. Truly amazed at the growth they made this year!
- If you would like to work on math with your child at home, you have access to their eBook and lessons at home. Have them log into their ConnectEd account. Their password should be on their PW sheet, which can be found on Google Drive. If you are unable to find it, please send me an email and I will be happy to get it for you.
Reading
- I will leave all of their accounts to Epic and Storia open for the summer for great reading!
- Your child will be put in new flexible groups starting this week!
- Students also work on writing, buddy read, read to self, and do RazKids. Feel free to do Raz Kids at home too!

Writing
- This week students are working on their individual word sorts, paragraph writing, reading responses and blogs. Please ask your child what their writing goal is and how they are proving that they are working on it!
- There should be at least 1 blog posted this week.
- Here is the link to your child's blog page. You can find their blog page by their initials. Feel free to leave comments on blog pages. If you could write 2 glows (things they are doing well) with 1 grow (things they need to work on). The support would be great!
