Updates from the Principal's Desk
It has been a very busy and successful start up as we are now two weeks into the school year and we are extremely happy with how all the students have settled into the building. We want to thank our staff for being so welcoming and caring as we greeted old and new students. As you can see, sports is up and running, and thus many students are partaking in extracurricular activities and we want to thank all the volunteers and coaches who provide these opportunities for our student athletes. In addition, we want to thank the local fire department for supplying barbeques and griddles to help us put on our Meet the Teacher Night and Welcome Back Breakfast as well as parent council/FAMS for supplying the food for these events. It was great to see so many families attend each event as we continue to focus on #Reconnection this school year.
Moreover, we want to introduce our new flourishing goal for 2023-2024 which is #BuildingMomentum as we want to continue the amazing things that are happening in this building, while focussing on a whole child approach by meeting students socially-emotionally, physically, academically, and culturally/spiritually. To do this we have layered in programs such as the Seven Grandfather Teachings which concentrates on core values and character, and our Response to Intervention (RTI). The RTI in the elementary grades will focus on reading and literacy, while in the junior/senior high it will focus on literacy, core subject academics, and homework completion.
