Happy Veterans Day - Thank You To All Who Are Serving And Who Have Served Our Country...
Parents & Guardians:
I want to thank all of the parents and guardians who came to our Parent Conferences last Thursday. The night was a success. If you didn't get a chance to meet with your child's teachers and you would like to do so, please reach out to our Team Leaders to schedule an appointment. Your partnership with us is very important.
On another note, we had a wonderful Veterans Day Assembly last Friday. Everyone involved did an amazing job, and it's always great to see our local veterans each year. Our students spoke, played and sang to honor all who served our country. It's definitely one of our favorite events of the year. I want to thank Mr. Olson, teachers, students and community members who came to enjoy this yearly event. A special thanks to Mrs. Potter as this was her last ceremony. She will be retiring at the end of the school year, and she has always been instrumental in making this event so good! The standing ovation was well deserved, Mrs. Potter - Thank You!
Finally, we are starting off November with our annual CHIP-IN Campaign. Classrooms are challenged to bring in non-perishable food items. The homeroom that collects the most items will receive a special treat. Let the competition begin! In addition, we are also collecting monetary donations of any size to add to our cause. Students can bring in loose change or make donations into our donation buckets. Parents can send in donations by making a check payable to: CHIP-IN. Please address all donations to the attention of Principal Packard.
Thanks in advance for helping out our/your community! We will be combining efforts with last year's Project 351 representative, Quinn Beck to make our efforts even bigger. Here are some of the items that are needed:
-jams/jellies
-canned chicken/tuna
-canned vegetables
-canned soups
-peanut butter
-NO RAMEN NOODLES
Anyway you can help would be greatly appreciated!
I hope everyone has an amazing week.

Annual CHIP-IN Food Drive & Donation Collection
Between now and November 25th, we will begin our annual campaign for supporting our local food pantry: CHIP-IN. Will will be having a contest to see what homeroom can bring in the most non-perishable can goods. All food items will be stored in the homerooms until Monday, November 25th. Let's see how much of a difference we all can make for our community! Also, last year we raised over $2,200.00 for this cause as well. We will have collection jars out to collect change and small donations. If you would like to get involved with us, please feel free to make a check payable to: CHIP-IN and drop it off at our school. This is such a great event each year and we couldn't do it without your support. Please e-mail me directly with any questions at dpackard@dcrsd.org
