The Weekly Howl
St. Francis Catholic School - Monday, January 18th
Dear Parents & Friends of SFCS,
I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!
St. Francis had another successful last week! In regards to COVID-19 cases in our school community we are doing very well compared to our greater community. As of right now we have 3 students quarantining because of being classified as a close contact. We continue to have no evidence of any transmission between students and faculty in our school. Thank you to all our faculty, students and parents who are working so hard in following our safety guidelines at this time. Following them at school and at home will continue to allow us at SFCS to keep "business as usual." Let's all work together in keeping our community healthy and let us pray for all the families, friends and community members that have been impacted by this pandemic.
3rd Quarter Report Cards will be email to you after school on Wednesday, January 22nd.
This week we will have a Spirit Day on Thursday hosted by our Junior BETA Club in support of Catholic Charities of the Lowcountry. Please see the flyer for more details and check out our uniform policy for the guidelines for Spirit Days.
Beginning Sunday, January 31st is National Catholic Schools Week. This annual tradition will be scaled back this year because of our current safety guidelines but we still look forward to celebrating Catholic school education with all other Catholic schools across the nation. Below is a current copy of the list of activities for CSW.
We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Sincerely in Christ,
Brian Pope

Dear MS Basketball Parents Friends and Family,
Good morning! Thank you for always being so cooperative and being our partner this year to ensure safety within our athletic program. I would like to ask for your help with regard to our mask wearing policy in the gym during basketball games.
This week, we have been informed that some parents are not diligently wearing a mask in the stands during basketball games. In the name of health and safety, this cannot continue. Even if you are socially distanced from other spectators, or your own family members, the policy is that you must have your mask on. This is a law on Hilton Head, and so therefore, we are following that law as well. By abiding to the law and wearing a mask, parents act as positive role models for our young atheltes. We need your help to reinforce the importance of mask wearing with our young people. Now more than ever, it is imperative that none of us give into “mask fatigue" by becoming complacent.
We are proud that SFCS has done an excellent job in reducing the COVID virus from spreading in our school community, and we want to continue to assure that all of our athletes and spectators, the young and the elderly, are safe when they are at our school. Again, I am asking for your support and compliance to our mask wearing policy during basketball games. Also, please make sure that any child over the age of 2 that is brought to the basketball games remain with a parent or guardian and the child must wear a mask. With cases of COVID on the upswing, we need to be extremely vigilant to protect the health of our school family and friends.
Thank you for your understanding and support moving forward so that we can continue to reduce the number of COVID risk factors and transmissions to our SFCS family members. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Be well and stay safe.
Pax Christi,
