CHS Senior Yearbook Photo Requirements
All seniors get a photo taken with our official photographer during the in-school studio days so that there is a reserved spot on our layout. Dates are scheduled for September 4 with retakes on October 2. If students wish to replace that photograph with one taken by another photographer, the replacement photo must be emailed to Vicki.francis@boiseschools.org by November 1, 2019.
The studio will provide everything needed for a professional, high quality photograph and will submit the picture to the yearbook staff. There will be no sitting fee, no charge for the yearbook photo submission and there will be the option to purchase more prints.
The studio will provide the tux jacket and shirt for boys and the drape for girls.
To help keep mistakes to a minimum, we post yearbook proof pages TWO TIMES in the hallway outside room 230. This usually happens in December and January. STUDENTS MUST CHECK THESE PROOF PAGES to confirm that we have their photo, name is spelled correctly and photo is placed in correct spot.
Using a different photographer? The following requirements must be followed:

Attendance Information
Absences
Students are allowed 9 absences per semester in each class period; this includes both excused and unexcused absences. A student is considered absent if they miss 20 or more minutes of the class. All absences must be excused by a parent or guardian within 48 hours of the absence in order to avoid a truancy. Parents or guardians can call the attendance office 24 hours a day 7 days a week to excuse absences. The direct phone number to the attendance office is 208-854-4493. Voicemails in the attendance office are checked regularly during school hours.
Absences that do not count toward the total 9 absences include: medical absences excused with documentation from a health care provider, legal absences excused with documentation from a court appearance or if a student is participating in a school sponsored activity.
Truancies occur when absences are not excused. Reasons for truancies may include leaving campus without permission (PTL), intentionally missing class, arriving to class more than 20 minutes late without a parent/guardian excusal or any absences that is not excused within 48 hours.
If a student exceeds the allowed 9 total absences in a class during the semester they may be at jeopardy for losing credit for that class.
PTL’s (Permit to Leave)
If your student needs to leave school early for any reason they must first obtain a permit to leave (PTL). Permits to leave can be requested by a parent or guardian by calling 208-854-4494. We kindly ask that you allow at least 1 hour of notice for a PTL but more advanced notice is always appreciated.
Tardies
Students are considered tardy if they are not seated in class when the bell rings at the beginning of each class period up until 20 minutes into class. If a student is more than 20 minutes late they are considered absent.
Students are allowed 5 tardies per semester in each class period without consequence. If a student receives 6 tardies in a class period they will receive 180 minutes of detention time that must be served before the end of the semester. 7 or more tardies will result in the student receiving an additional 30 minutes of detention for every tardy acquired.
Be cool! Stay in school. Don’t be late. Graduate!

Capital Eagles Athletic Dept. - Strength & Conditioning Program
Capital is sponsoring a donation drive to help us replace outdated and unsafe equipment in our weight room. We currently run 7 Athletic Fitness classes throughout the day meeting the needs of approximately 240 of our athletes as well as having an after school program Monday –Thursday from 3:30 to 6:30.
Our after school program is under the direction of Coach Pat Corbett. Coach Corbett is a USA Level 2 certified coach, Advanced Sports Performance Instructor and has coached the USA National Team, Toronto Blue Jays strength and conditioning staff and at the Olympic Training Center. He has 30 + years of experience in coaching and training high school athletes and has also coached football, wrestling and track. He is one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the State of Idaho and your student athlete will have full access to him for FREE! Coach Corbett will be assisted by Coach Dustin Golden who is a new instructor on our staff this year.
Coach Corbett and Coach Golden will work closely with our fitness instructors and coaches to align everything we do in our classes and after school to build the most comprehensive Strength & Conditioning program in the northwest and meet the needs of all of our teams and athletes. Better trained athletes mean safer athletes that are less susceptible to injury and can recover quicker if injuries happen.
Please help us build our program. Your donation is needed and appreciated. Donations can be made through the Boise Ed Foundation.
