Writing
Pen Pals
The students have been writing to the Second Grade class at Stoy School. Many children are exchanging letters on a regular basis and developing lovely relationships with their pen pals! What a great way to keep up our letter writing skills! Ask if your child has received a letter lately.
Valentine's Day Mailbox
This week we will do a special writing project for Valentine’s Day! We will use text and visual features to create an amazing Valentine’s Day mailbox. We will also practice writing a paragraph that will be incorporated into our final mailbox/keepsake design.
WEB Biography Project
Students should have a person for their project and a book by now. Many students have started reading and are in the process of beginning their projects. Try not to leave the WEB project until the last minute, this will cause much stress for both you and your Second Grader! Pace yourselves and give your child time to be creative and enjoy completing the project at their own rate. Remember you can turn in the project at any time, however it is due February 27th.

Safety Reminder
Another reminder: Please make sure your child knows what they are doing after school and where they are going. We have had some confusion about this in the past week. Please tell your children how they are to get home each day. Some parents find it works well to write a note reminding their child where they are going or if they are walking home at the bottom of each day in their child's agenda. This way I can see what the plan is too! Remind your children that if for some reason their parent or pick-up person is late, they are to go to the front door and buzz back into the building. Mrs. Kredatus is always there to help in this situation and it keeps all students safe after school. Let's keep all of our students safe and try to review your family dismissal plans.
