Sherwood Schools: District Updates
April 30, 2021
Student Cases on Campuses
Over the last two weeks, we have received reports of a number of students with positive COVID cases. Families and staff at the schools where cases have occurred have already received communication directly from their school offices. With schools at all levels now participating in Hybrid in-person instruction, limiting the spread of COVID in our schools and community is an essential part of preventing students from having to participate in quarantines due to exposures.
As always, we ask students, staff, and families to monitor for primary symptoms of COVID-19 -- including a fever of 100.4 or higher, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or new loss of taste or smell -- and stay home/away from campus whenever these symptoms occur. In the event of an exposure to a positive COVID case outside of school or a positive test result, please contact your school office right away to report that information. Additionally, we encourage all members of our Sherwood School District community to continue practicing preventative measures, including wearing cloth face coverings and adhering to social distancing, to limit the spread of COVID-19 both inside and outside of the school environment.
Student Vaccine Clinic (Ages 16+) at Oregon Convention Center
Our district has been made aware of an opportunity for students ages 16 and up in our district to begin accessing COVID-19 vaccinations. This voluntary opportunity is a result of the efforts and collaboration of the Oregon Convention Center, school districts from both Washington County and our neighboring counties, and the OHA to provide greater access to vaccines for those families/students who are interested. When we receive details for how to sign up for a vaccine at the Oregon Convention Center, we will be sending that information out to high school families.
Campuses Closed During School Hours
Reminder - Online Registration for 2021-22 is Now Available!
As we plan for the 2021-22 school year, we are doing so in preparation for our students to be attending school in-person, every day, full-time in all of our schools. To better prepare for this, we encourage the use of our online registration process for the 2021-22 school year for all families with incoming kindergarten students, new students, or students who plan to return to SSD after being previously withdrawn.
Please note that registration is not necessary for current Sherwood students, as they are automatically enrolled in the 2021-22 school year.
Online registration is accessible at https://bit.ly/SSD-OLR
New families may sign up for a ParentVUE account at this site by clicking “Create New Account” and completing the registration. Parents of current and former Sherwood students must log in with their existing ParentVUE account or obtain a ParentVUE activation key to complete registration. Please contact your current student’s school with any questions about ParentVUE activation.
