Message From The Principal
With the end of October comes the end of fall sports season, so this seems like an excellent time to highlight some of our recent athletic achievements.
During the fall we had 4 teams win region championships: cheer, boys cross country, girls tennis (who went undefeated in the regular season), and girls swimming. These teams have gone on to compete in the state playoffs, a few of which are still continuing at this time. We have also had an individual state champion--Aubrey Chandler who finished 1st in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.
Last month our school was awarded the York County Sports Hall of Fame Excellence in Sports Award. This recognition is awarded to the school in our county with the best overall athletic achievement, and marks the 8th time in 9 years that our school has won the award. This serves as a testament to the strength and successfulness of our athletic department. More recently this was reaffirmed by our ranking of 4th in the state for AAAAA in the SC Carlisle Cup, the state-wide award for overall athletic accomplishment.
We recognize that the achievement of our school is made possible by our student-athletes, but also by the countless hours of support and guidance of the parents, coaches, and teachers that stand behind our Yellow Jacket athletes.
