13 Days Left in Quarter 2
Message from Principal Perkins
Good evening Trix Families,
Happy New Year Trix Academy Parents, Guardians and Scholars. I hope all had a wonderful two weeks vacation and enjoyed their time off, got rest, and enjoyed family and friends.
Quarter 2 is almost over and it is time to reset our approach to attendance. The month of November and December we saw an increase in truancy of our scholars. Parents have the most important role in ensuring scholars are in school, all day and daily. We must make sure all scholars have the best opportunities for academic success and it starts with them being in school and in front of teachers everyday.
You should have receive letters from me if you have a scholar(s) who have missed up to 15 days of school this school year. If your scholar(s) have missed more than 15 days of school, an attendance contract will be required. Be on the look out for a call from our attendance department to set up parent meetings.
We have to work together to close the academic gap of success many of our scholars are facing. We want our scholars to have choices and opportunities for success in life and this can happen if they are academically sound and grade level proficient. So PLEASE, I am asking parent to make sure your scholars are in the building daily and in school all day.
If you are experiencing difficulties with attendance and you need school assistance, please contact myself or Ms. Hayes for help. (l.perkins@mecc-academies.org and p.hayes@mecc-academies.org)
Lastly, we have a MANDATORY parent meeting on January 17th to discuss our school wide attendance issue. Attendance Works will be in here to assist with resources for parents as well. Below are the times to meet in the Trix Academy Gym.
- K-4th 8:45-9:20
- 5th-8th 9:30-10
Again we must work as a team to ensure our scholars success.
LET'S WIN THE WEEK!!!!

New In Door Dismissal Procedure
Effective Monday, January 9, 2023, to ensure scholar safety, Trix Academy will incorporate indoor dismissal until further notice.
Our dismissal process will go as follows:
Parents will drive to the Trix Academy Pick Up Sign (In Green ) located at the corner of Fairmont and Fairport to give the name and grade of your scholar to the Trix Staff Members. The staff member will radio your scholar's name for pick up and parents will drive around to the JoAnn Street Side of the building with the double door. Look for the dismissal Sign In Red.
All scholars will be prepared and waiting in the gym and hallways for parent arrivals.
Parents who walk to pick up scholars, please come to the main doors for pickup assistant.
Walkers will be dismissed at 3:25.
Also the Main Doors will open for scholars at 7:30 so that NO Scholars will be outside prior to the school day.

Happy New Families!
As we embark on a new year, 2023, let's move forward into the new year focused and determined for our students to win. Parents, please continue to remind your children about the importance of following all school rules, procedures and expectations. Please remember that uniforms are required daily for all students. Also make sure your student is in dress code each and everyday.
Breakfast begins at 8:05am and ends at 8:25am daily. Please make sure you get your children to school on time so that they can receive breakfast and have a productive day.
Looking forward to celebrating all the many successes of our Trix Academy students this year!
Ms. Hayes
