Hy-Vee Homeroom Receipt Challenge
Ugly Sweater Day
Friday Follow-up & Hallway Zones
I want to reiterate a couple of the main ideas from the professional learning:
- An increased presence in the hallway will help provide a needed structure for our students that will translate into students being to class on time and ready to learn.
- A consistent approach to SNOOPERVISION as adults are moving, scanning, and interacting with students will help provide a common message to our students.
IPI Review/Refresher
Systematically move from classroom to classroom based upon the floor plan of the school.
Observe all learning settings proportionately across the school.
Code student learning during the first moments of initial entry into classroom as if your code was based on a digital picture of the students upon entry.
Focus on students, not the teacher.
Code the predominant engagement pattern
Collect a large volume of data points throughout the entire school day
If you're curious to the differentiation of the six levels pleas see the picture below.

Kirkwood Interactive Camps
My name is Kristin Hanneman and I’m the Director for Kirkwood Interactive Camps for Kids! We are in the process of hiring for the summer and are in need of instructors to teach our summer camps. Kirkwood is looking for instructors to teach children ages 8-14. Our camps focus on STEM related topics, and we are in specific need this year for those interested in teaching computer related classes including Coding, Lego Mindstorms, Sphero, Minecraft Design, Virtual Reality, etc. We also welcome any new ideas as well! If interested, please contact Kristin Hanneman at Kristin.Hanneman@kirkwood.edu with your interest and subject area.

PTA Grant
Once again this year, the Franklin PTA is offering teachers the opportunity to submit a proposal for money to be used towards items in your classroom. At the PTA Meeting on Monday, PTA agreed to offer $1,000. The maximum per proposal is $200. Unlike last year, applying for the School Foundation's Enrichment grant is not a requirement. Follow the link to submit. Proposals are due before winter break.
