MAY 2nd- ELECTION DAY/NO SCHOOL THAT DAY

Testing Schedules
Grades 3-5 will continue testing on April 24th. The last day of testing will be April 26th.
Any student who misses a test will be required to make up the test when they return to school. PLEASE do not be absent unless it is absolutely necessary or an emergency. Do not schedule any appointments before noon. We will be testing!
.
Grades K-5 will take STAR during the month of May. This test helps us monitor growth and identify students who may need intervention through RTI, summer learning camp, or tutoring.
Parents:
Arrival: Please make sure to have your students to school on time. Students in grades 3-5 should be here no later than 8:05, but by 8:00 am is even better.
Hunger: EVERY STUDENT may buy breakfast, but YOU MUST ARRIVE BY 7:50 am.
Students will test better if they are not hungry. So, please make sure they have had breakfast. The cafe closes at 8:00 am.
Rest: Please make sure your child has an early bedtime during testing. Thirty minutes earlier than normal is a great idea. Testing is tiring for students.
ABSENT/TARDY:
STUDENTS WHO ARE ABSENT DO HAVE TO MAKE UP THE TESTS. IF YOU ARE TARDY, YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE CLASS FINISHES A TEST BEFORE JOINING THE CLASS. MORE THAN LIKELY, TARDY STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND TEST IN THE AFTERNOON.

TESTING WEEK TIPS (grades 3-5)
- Get plenty of rest (early bedtime)
- Attendance - try your best to come to school so you don't have to take make-up tests
- Eat breakfast (arrive by 7:55 am if you want to eat at school)
- Be at school on time. (by 8:00 am is best/8:15 is tardy)
- Pack a snack/water bottle - we will take a snack break
- Wear comfy clothes - pack a light jacket if you get cold in classrooms
- Try to relax to avoid anxiety; Videos, books help with Anxiety (links below)
