Gananda Alumni Association Presents the One Stop Holiday Shop Come out and support our alumni association while doing some holiday shopping all in one place. There will be over 50 vendors and crafters set up at the Richard Mann Elementary School this Saturday, November 17. The sale will be from 11am until 3pm. There will also be raffles benefiting a local family battling cancer, food trucks and horse drawn wagon rides. | Gananda Middle School Drama Club Presents "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" The Gananda Middle School Drama Club is working hard on their Fall production, "The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe". Twenty six, seventh and eighth graders have been rehearsing since early September to get ready for opening night. "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" is a classic story, set in the land of Narnia, that presents the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The production will run for two performances, Friday November 16 and Saturday November 17 at 7pm in the Gananda Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. | Free Pre-K Could Be Coming January 2019 Gananda Central School District is excited to announce we have officially applied for a grant from New York State to begin a district run Pre-K program for 3 and 4 year olds in January 2019. On September 25 we received notification from the state that were a priority district to receive this grant to begin a free Pre-K program. To be a part of this grant, we needed to submit our application by the end of this month. We are pleased to inform our parents and community members that we have officially submitted our application to the state for this exciting program. In order to qualify for funding, we must begin this program in January 2019. We will not hear about official approval from the State until December, but we are preparing for the program now. Registration will be open from November 19 through December 7 for 3-and 4-year olds. There is also a Parent Information Night on November 19 at 6:30pm at Ruben A. Cirillo High School. It's a new shopping season! Did you know that you can help GDFS by shopping online? If you use Amazon, you can help raise money for scholarships! Simply start off by going to AmazonSmile, and select Scholarship America, Gananda Dollars for Scholars as the organization you want to support. From then on, you just go to AmazonSmile to shop and you have access to the same site as Amazon or Amazon Prime. That's it! About 0.5% of your purchase before tax will be donated to GDFS.
High School Student Volunteer Opportunities-Get your Gananda Dollars for Scholars volunteer hours by helping out with the following events:
1. Light the Night tree decorating at Ginegaw Park: Thursday November 29th 3:30-4:30
2. GDFS Meeting in the High School Library: Tuesday December 4th at 7:00. Students will be making cards.
3. Caroling for Dollars: Meet in the High School Atrium at 6:00 on Wednesday December 5th. It will wind down between 8:30 and 9:00.

#Unity Mrs Gross' 8th grade health classes have been busy baking cookies in which they will be selling at home Modified, JV and Varsity basketball games. All proceeds will be donated to Mr Flansburg to help offset medical costs. What a way to come together to help one of our own! This is just one of the Random Act of Kindness activities which they have been working on. | #Outstanding Congratulations to East Rochester/Gananda Football player, Jayden Castrechini for being awarded Ontario Honda 2018 Class C Offensive Player of the Year! | #Unity JV cheer offered a “hand” to create a hand print rainbow for World Kindness Day 2018. Join the Varsity & JV Cheerleaders for our 4th annual Mini Cheer Camp!
At camp, you will learn a cheer and short dance that will be performed with the high school cheerleaders during halftime of the Basketball game on Thursday, 12/20. You will also get a t-shirt, make a craft and have a snack!
