Spring Hill Jr. High and Mrs. England's Advanced ELA Classes Proudly Boast Two Published Poets - Madison Duncan and Elizabeth Cockrell!
The Northeast Texas Poetry in Schools Contest received over 750 poetry entries this year from schools all over the Northeast Texas area. They were judged by published poets, professors, and educators. Madison placed second and Elizabeth placed third out of over 140 entries at the sixth grade level. Their poems were published in the Young Audiences of Northeast Texas 2019 Anthology.

SHISD Education Foundation Prize Patrol Surprise Grant Winners
- The Primary's "Get Your Teach On" team (Renee Chapman, Laura Hill, Susan Thomas and Jaymee Laymance) was awarded $2564.71
- The Junior High's "Blended Learning in Math" team (David Lynch) was awarded $7839
- The High School's "CAMT Grant" team (Wendy Maynard and Jennifer Fields) was awarded $1432
The Education Foundation has awarded a total of $19,678 in grants for the 2018-2019 school year. Thank you to all who donate and support their fundraisers throughout the year in order to provide funds for these grants.

Parents of students entering Kindergarten in the fall are welcome to come tour the campus and receive the basics of Kindergarten!

(Students will take a Kindergarten pre-assessment-approx. 20 minutes)
When: Tuesday, May 7 & Thursday, May 9 (8:00am-3:00pm)
Wednesday, May 8 (8:00am-1:00pm) & (4:00pm-6:00pm)
