Google Updates
New Public and Staff Calendars
Due to the switch to the new Edlio websites we changed the way Google calendars work for both the public calendar and the staff calendars for your campus. Follow these directions to get them setup or wait for an email invitation to be sent in late August. Updating Your Campus Calendars
Various New Features
- Google Slides supports Airplay.
- Classroom has Add to Chrome extension to add content easily.
- Google Calendar now allows you to add an attachment to events.
- You can now customize the location of app icons in the app launcher.
- There is a new Google Drive plug-in for Office which makes it easy to upload files. (Windows Only)
Eduphoria Updates
If you login to Eduphoria you will be prompted to change your password and update your information. Please do so before continuing. You will be forced to change your password to something you have not used. (Note: Once you login another time you can change it back if you like.) It is important to check/uncheck all items that do/do not apply to you in order for your rights to be set correctly.
Rebranded Icons / Minor Updates
The icons have been rebranded and some updates have been made. However, most of the updates are cosmetic.
Contract Ends with Project Share
TEA’s contract with Epsilen, the learning management system used to deliver Project Share’s online professional development courses, ends August 31. Before the contract period ends, users should take inventory of their content housed in Epsilen and complete steps to download and save their work. There will be a lapse in service as TEA transitions from one management system to another. For this reason, we strongly recommend that teachers complete courses by August 31, and save and print their certificates of completion. Project Share will continue with online professional development courses and teacher and student resources, including the ESTAR/MSTAR and TxAIR systems, OnTRACK Lessons, and Gateway resources, available for the 2015-16 school year. For additional assistance or questions on how to save work, please contact projectshare@tea.texas.gov.
Note: The Texas Literacy Initiative course will continue to be available this school year.
Discontinued Software
- We will no longer use Successmaker or Waterford software for math and reading intervention. The Texas Literacy Initiative grant funded these resources and has decided not to continue their use.
- TEA is still making a decision about funding iStation and Think Through Math for the 2015-2016 school year. There is a potential for us to have some other software available for reading and math intervention. However, the Texas Literacy Initiative is funding iStation for K-8 regardless of the outcome. Think Through Math will no longer be used until further notice.
