Exciting New Academic Support Program In Development

Here at ACPS, the first goal of our strategic plan, Learning for All, centers around Thriving Students. As a division, we aim to facilitate learning experiences grounded in high expectations, networks of care, and student curiosity to ensure academic and social-emotional development for all students.

At the beginning of September, the Virginia Department of Education announced an exciting new initiative that will help us take another step toward helping our students thrive. After releasing the 2022-23 Standards of Learning (SOL) scores, Governor Youngkin, Secretary Guidera and State Superintendent Coons announced ALL In Tutoring, a statewide funding opportunity for local school divisions that will accelerate the learning recovery of our students following COVID-19.

This plan provides financial support to all divisions across the Commonwealth to hire tutors for students in grades 3-8 with a concentration on developing math and reading skills. The program’s "ALL In" designation represents the collective commitment to enhancing student access to high-quality, personalized tutoring that will meet their individual needs. By partnering with experienced educators and leveraging advanced learning techniques, ALL In Tutoring aims will be a transformative experience for our learners and it will make a difference in their academic success, both as they progress toward high school graduation and beyond.

We will share program details as they are confirmed. It's important to remember that the success of this programs depends not only on our educators but on our entire community’s support. I encourage each of you with children in grades 3-8 to consider taking advantage of this opportunity. Working together, we can realize the promise of thriving students for every student.

Sincerely,

Dr. Matthew S. Haas, Superintendent
