From the Thompson Administration Team

Happy Friday Thunder Parents/Guardians!

It is hard to believe that planning for next year is in full swing. With that being said, on Wednesday, February 15th, the 6th and 7th grade students received their exploratory course registration documents. Students and families should complete this document, sign, and return it to our Student Services Office by Wednesday, February 22nd.

Monday is Presidents' Day. Please note that school will be closed for this holiday, so enjoy this long weekend with your family. We look forward to seeing all of our students on Tuesday, February 21st!

Happy Weekend~

Soup'd Up for the Superbowl Donation Drive

Our Social Emotional Learning committee hosted a Soup'd Up for the Superbowl donation drive to benefit the Salvation Army food pantry. We want to send a shout out to the entire Thompson Middle School family! Our food drive was a huge success with 2,102 donations.

The Salvation Army was amazed and grateful for the outpouring of support and generosity! Congratulations to team 6-4 for having the most donated items with 503 and a huge thank you to 8-4 for coming in second with 476 donations! We are so grateful for the opportunity to give and even more appreciative of those who organized and donated!

Thompson Yearbooks

Every year, the Yearbook Club publishes a Thompson yearbook. Students who decide to purchase a yearbook are given this keepsake at the end of the school year. Buying a yearbook is optional and not all students choose to own one. The price of the yearbook is $25.

Have you ordered a Thompson 22-23 Yearbook? You can check PushCoin account to see if you have purchased one by going to 'transactions' and then adjusting the start date back to July 1, 2022. Also, we have a list of all students who will be receiving a yearbook posted on the wall by the cafeteria. Contact Kim Walters (kimberly.walters@d303.org or 331-228-6410) if you have any questions or need financial assistance.

Spring Track and Field

An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, March 2nd at 8:20 am in the main gym for 7th and 8th students interested in participating on the Track and Field team. This year’s track and field schedule is posted on the Thompson website. Athletes must have a current sports physical and an agreement to participate in interscholastic athletics on file in the main office in order to practice/participate with the team. We are looking forward to a great season!

ThunderBolts

In partnership with our fabulous PTO, Thompson is continuing to develop a network of school based role models to provide support during specific times of the school day. As primary/middle schools (K - 8) are predominantly staffed by female educators, we are looking to first identify positive male role models for this initiative. We are modeling our “ThunderBolts” Program after the National Watch D.O.G.S Program that some of our elementary schools have in place.
