ILT Update
The ILT shared their learning on one-to-one data conversations with a cadre of career teachers in grades 3-5. (This work is from our recent learning with UVA that will help to support student learning through the analysis of student work.) The mentors will be field testing this work with their paired teacher over the next few weeks in order to support building-wide learning for next school year. This will take the place of their cluster follow-up each week. We are excited about sharing this work and embarking on a new journey will all of you!
Class Lists
The pink and blue class cards have been placed in your mailboxes. Please fill out this information PRIOR to our staff meeting on April 17th so that your team can begin putting the students into class lists for next school year. Please know that there is some data (NWEA/ISTEP) that you do not have at this time. Once you receive that information, you will be able to add it to the card.
Any questions, please see June or I.
IREAD Update
We received our IREAD results on Monday. We had 49/74 students pass the test, which is a 66% passage rate. However, of the 25 students that did not pass, 17 of them are eligible for exemptions. If you take the 17 students out of the total of 74, 49 out of 57 students passed, which would give us a passing rate of 86%.
Thanks to the 3rd Grade Team and Randy for their hard work in preparing our students for the test. I know that they will continue to work hard over the next couple of months in order to ensure that the rest of the students pass during the summer administration.
Staffing Updates
- Imelda Herrera has been hired as the DLI Para for 1st Grade for the 2018-2019 school year. Imelda has been working at the HS as a General Ed. Para and has many years of experience working with EL students previously in Ligonier. She is working on her teaching license from Ivy Tech. She is excited about being a part of the Waterford staff for next year.
- Ursula Kaltenbach will be taking Sherida Cross's place as a TOI next year. Ursula has a wealth of experience and will be able to put her teaching background into practice in the Learning Lab.
- Alex Edlund will be an IDEA Teacher AND Mentor next year. She will be taking the place of Shelley Kauffman. We are excited to have Alex be part of the leadership team and offer perspectives of student work through the lens of students who need additional behavioral and academic support.
- Lauren Wagoner has resigned her position next year due to her upcoming wedding and move to Fort Wayne. We will miss her and thank her for her service at Waterford over the last two years.
