- We will be performing a little "surgery" this week to help us prepare for the STAAR!
- We will be in complete review as we prepare for the upcoming STAAR test.
- We will continue working on our fREADom reading.
- We will continue to work on summarizing using GIST and checking our comprehension by using Author’s Portrait.
- We will continue to practice our choral reading. This is a great way to help with fluency. We read a paragraph together out loud as a class at a pace that I set. The more we practice this, the faster we will get and the more fluent we will become. The kids really have fun doing this!
- Your child should continue reading nightly for 30 minutes and then getting their reading log initialed.
Social Studies:
- We will be covering the Westward Expansion and Manifest Destiny. This will take us into the week after STAAR testing.

A Message From Our Librarian, Mrs. Wisdom
Hello All!
Our Spring Book Fair is HERE! We will be open every day this week (April 1st - 5th) from 7:30 a.m. until the school day ends. Thursday, April 4th is our Seele movie night and I will be here after school until everyone leaves from the movie.
This year, Scholastic is offering an eWallet. This is a great way to send your child to the fair with funds, but not actual cash in hand! I, myself, registered and loaded funds to see how it works and it was so easy. Any unused funds are distributed back to your credit/debit card at the close of the fair. It is essentially a "debit" for your child. Once complete, you just print out the sheet and send it along with your child to the fair. If your child forgets their sheet, I can still look it up on the computer. I am attaching the website to our fair homepage. Simply scroll down to the eWallet portion and follow the instructions. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me an email and I can help with the process. mwisdom@nbisd.org
