SAT School Day - Register by February 12
In an effort to limit the number of people outside of the WHS community entering our building, we have made the decision to cancel our Saturday SAT administration in May. To ensure that WHS students have an opportunity to take this important admissions test, we will be offering SAT School Day on Tuesday, April 27 to students in 11th grade. While many colleges and universities did not require the SAT or ACT for the Fall 2020 admission cycle, it is less clear if this trend will continue for Fall 2021. Students can now sign up through Guidance using this form (students will need to use their school email to complete this form). Registration will remain open until Friday, February 12. The cost is $52 ($8 for eligible students). Payments can be dropped off to Mrs. Tracy in Guidance or mailed to her attention.
Because WHS is running this test, students will not register through CollegeBoard or receive email reminders from them. All communications about this test will come from the WHS Guidance Department.
If you have questions, please contact your school counselor or visit www.collegeboard.org. You can use Khan Academy for test prep and practice and, once you have your PSAT scores, you can use that information to prepare!

"The Model Minority Myth From First Gen College Student Perspectives", February 18 (Thurs), 7:00 pm-8:30 pm; presented by the National Association of Asian American Professionals
Join us for a conversation exploring how first-generation college Asian-American college students may: 1) Experience barriers to higher education; 2) Navigate higher education, especially predominantly white institutions; and 3) Explore career paths during and after college. We hope this event will provide a space for mentorship and support, and foster a deeper sense of community and empowerment. You can RSVP here.
Online Practice ACT Exam offered by the Newton Free Library and Revolution Prep
Saturday, February 20th, 2021, 9am - 1pm
To register visit www.revolutionprep.com/partners/137972
Take a full-length practice test under timed conditions. A proctored practice exam will help your child build testing endurance and give you a real-time snapshot of their testing performance. This virtual test will give your student the opportunity to work on pacing and endurance in a safe setting that best simulates the test day environment. Students will take the test online with a live proctor through Revolution Prep, and get a baseline score.
