WRE Faculty and Staff - Week of September 21, 2015

Week 5 - We've got this!

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is back from a relaxing and restful weekend. I know I needed it! Now that things are back into a routine and your classrooms are well on their way for the year, it is easy to get tired and start feeling the weight of all that we have going on as teachers. Please know that we are here to support you in any way that we can! We have the best teachers in the nation here at WRE and we are here for you when things get tough! Below, you will also find some articles that could help with stress management and taking time for yourself. I know I needed these reminders myself. :)

Thanks for all you do and all that you contribute to our team!

Staff Shout-Outs!

Sorry I don't have pics this week, but wanted to really emphasize our appreciation for all of you who made SAGE run so smoothly last week! The ladies who came to run it said it was BY FAR the smoothest SAGE program they have ever put on and we have way more kids than they typically see. Our PTA rep went to observe it at another school and she said it was total chaos...I am SO proud of how our staff came together for this program and we know how hard it was to devote that time to not having planning, changing your schedule, etc. It was really above and beyond of you and we are so appreciative of your flexibility!

Another shout-out to our new 2nd grade teachers who have been working so hard, coming early and staying late, to make sure that they are prepared and ready to go for the day or week ahead. A teammate has taken special notice of your hard work and really wanted to give you a shout-out! :) I love that your team is so encouraging of each other!

Grade Level Planning Update - 9/24 and 10/1

This week, we will not have GLP meetings in Jen and Stephanie's room. Please still meet and plan with your teams sometime this week (does not have to be on Thursday) to make sure that everyone is on the same page with plans. We wanted to give yall that time back since we have Tech meetings tomorrow!

Next week at GLP, we are going to be answering the following question about the concepts we are teaching the following week - How do you plan to make this concept comprehensible for the least proficient student in your class? Basically, we will be chatting about how we can scaffold lessons and concepts to meet the needs of our struggling learners.

Small Group Help is On the Way!

Small group help is coming! We have heard a lot of feedback about wanting new, fresh ideas for small groups and stations and for documenting student growth. We are centering our staff meeting on October 1st around this topic! Please come to hear and see some great ideas for small groups this year!
