Mental Health Moments with Shae Williams
Join us in this special edition of our Coffee Talk series with our special guest, Shae Williams the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD). This month, Shae will share her Mental Health Moments workshop where we will explore practical strategies to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health distress and simple interventions and coping strategies to help promote holistic health and wellness.

Soren is a Parent Training Coordinator for the Parent Education Network, a project under the Family Network on Disabilities (FND). Soren has completed Florida Partners in Policymaking and Pete’s Wrightslaw workshops. Soren has been involved with the public school system and IEPs for over 5 years and enjoys educating parents how to navigate the special education process. Soren lives in Central Florida with her husband and son. Soren was born and raised in Aruba and speaks four languages (English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento).

Luke is a Parent Training Coordinator for the Parent Education Network (PEN), a Family Network on Disabilities (FND) project. Luke brings over 20-years of experience navigating special education and the systems of care serving youth, families, and adults living with behavioral, developmental, emotional, medical, mental health, substance use, and trauma-related disabilities. Luke leverages his lived experience and skills as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist and Group Facilitation Specialist to support, encourage, and empower other parents of youth living with disabilities.
Shae Williams, MS, RMHCI Clinical Support Administrator/AMC Project Lead/FAU Consultant
Mx. Williams graduated with her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2020 and is a therapist at Sunserve. Currently looking forward to Doctoral studies in pursuit of a Ph.D in Counseling Education and Supervision at Grand Canyon University in June 2021. Mx. Williams has been working for with individuals with Autism for over 5 years and is currently working in our Broward office as a Clinical Support Administrator where she facilitates the novel groups Minorities in Autism, Mental Health Moments, the Identity Journey Workshop, as well Leads the Autism Multicultural Collective (AMC).
