STEM Week Showcase at SJP2CA Lower Mills this week!
Join us on Tuesday, October 31st at 1pm in the Lower Mills Science Lab for an innovative walk through with middle school students. During the past week, middle school students were immersed in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Grade 7 Scientists were able to conduct simulated surgeries, perform biopsies, learn how to suture and analyze DNA all through hands-on learning and experiments. Our students spent over 20 hours in the Science Lab, dissecting a Sheep's Brain, Learning about Healthy and Sick Bone density while dissecting a Chicken's Leg and performing a model blood typing. The final 'Patient' in the Surgical Techniques lab requires students to apply all of the skills they have learned to create a treatment plan and present it to the class.
