2022-2023 School Meals
When the 2021-2022 school year ended, so did free meals for every student. While the federal government funded a program that allowed all students access to free meals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress recently declined to continue funding this program. This means all families will need to carry a positive balance in their children's school meal accounts when school begins in the fall.
NEGATIVE ACCOUNT BALANCES: To ensure positive lunch balances, student accounts may not exceed a negative $25.00. Any accounts below a negative $25.00 will no longer allow charging of breakfast or lunch at Middle School or High School until the account has a positive balance.
MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Students with a negative balance greater than $25.00 need to pay cash for their meal at the time of purchase or have an application on file with the food service secretary to receive a regular lunch. Note: Ala carte items may not be charged if a student has a zero or negative balance.
The free and reduced meal application is needed by the District to determine families who qualify for free/reduced cost school meals, fee waivers, and for Federal funding and Title 1 services for our students. Families should complete it in one of the following ways :
1. Use the Infinite Campus Parent Portal -
2. Applications are linked below. The application will need to be printed, signed and returned to the Middle School 1640 1st St Boone,IA. Attn: Lori King
3. A hard copy of the Free and Reduced Meal application can be picked up at any building office.
Please feel free to contact Lori King Food Service Director with any questions lking@boone.k12.ia.us 515 433 0020 ext 31541

Athletics Registration
Toreador Families,
It's hard to believe that we are already looking at turning the calendar to August! While it's hard to believe, we look forward to another year of Toreador Athletics. Our "Online Athletics Registration" is live and active for the 2022-23 School Year (link is below). Please take the time to read through the information, and fill out the forms for your student. All students involved in District-Sponsored Athletics in grades 7-12 will need a completed online athletics registration on file, along with a current physical form (physicals are valid for 13 months after the date of the physical). There is a place within the registration to upload the completed physical form.
Completion of the Registration/Physical is not required for the attendance at any summer camps that may be offered. However, the Athletics Registration and Physical Form must be completed and on file before a student may physically participate in practice this Fall. For High School, this starting date is Monday August 10th. Middle School practices will begin a couple weeks later near the first day of school.
