Roadrunner News

We are thrilled to be welcoming back students this week! By now all of our on campus families should have received a notification from their child's teacher regarding their am or pm session assignment. Thank you so much for all of your patience and understanding as we work through balancing classrooms with all of the extenuating situations. We know that there is no way to give everyone what they want, but hope you will be able to work with your classroom teacher in a smooth transition back to campus.

Please be sure to review our reopening plan on the Westwood website. We have included the details and safety measures put in place to create a safe and healthy environment for students and staff. We have also included a Re-opening at a Glace page below with a few key details.

We know we may hit some hiccups along the way and are always appreciative of feedback. We will adjust as necessary to make things as convenient as possible while not sacrificing safety. The plans and protocols are in place. The new equipment has arrived and is ready to go. The staff has been trained and has prepared to implement all necessary protocols and get to the business of teaching.

While doing so, our virtual teachers and students are plugging away at learning. The work is so impressive. We know none of this would be possible without great partners at home. Thank you team!

Again, with our whole hearts, welcome back Westwood!

On Campus Classes Schedule Change Next Week

Due to On Campus teachers needing to prepare for their students return to in person teaching, please note that there will not be live instruction during the afternoons of Monday, 9/28, Tuesday, 9/29 and Wednesday, 9/30. For those afternoons, students will be taking part in asynchronous lessons. Thank you for your understanding as the On Campus staff works to ensure a safe and welcoming opening on Thursday, October 1st.

Health and Safety Agreement

Each student who is returning for On Campus learning, must read and acknowledge the Health and Safety Agreement. Please press the button below to complete this document. No printing required.

2020-2021 Lunch Procedures

September 23, 2020

Breakfast and lunch will be provided at WWES each day. Below are the procedures for food and nutrition distribution.

AM students will attend school. After school is dismissed, students will go to the food distribution location on campus and pick up their breakfast/lunch grab and go meals. Students will leave campus and eat lunch at their after school destination. Parents/guardians can also pick up meals for their child(ren) prior to dismissal pending the submission of this required Parent Pick Up form. Parents may complete the form on-site or at home and return it to school the following day for audit purposes. This form serves as certification by the parent that meals are only provided to eligible students, without duplication. The parent or guardian would only need to complete the form once and return it to the school location where meals will be picked up.

Students attending ESS will eat lunch once they arrive at ESS. Lunch count will take place and the ESS staff will go to the food distribution area to pick up lunch for students.

PM Session

Parent/Guardian will pick up breakfast and lunch for their child(ren) at the school site food distribution location after their child(ren) have been screened and dropped off at school. Parents/guardians can fill out a form once to list the student(s) names for whom they are picking up meals. Parent/Guardian will then take the meal(s) with them for student consumption anytime prior to the PM session the following day.

Families can pick up at the WWES MPR - times TBD.

The district meal distribution locations are open 7-8:30am and 11-1pm Monday -Friday at the following schools: DNHS, MBMS, MCHS, PHS, RBHS, TPMS, and WVHS.
