Our December Cooking with Math Crockpot meal will take place on December 8th. Students will make steamed pumpkin bread! Your child will also receive the book Home for the Holidays.

Hello Parents and Students,

This is Mr. Gonzalez informing you that we will continue working with the Feeling Buddies; self-regulation curriculum for the remainder of December. Currently, we are identifying the different emotions from the feeling buddies and how we experience these emotions on a daily basis at home and school. The classrooms all have a safe place where the feeling buddies are located in a pouch that hangs on the wall. When our children are feeling happy, sad, angry or any of the many feelings we discuss, they can pick out a feeling buddy to help them identify their feeling. This will also help with processing their feelings with the teacher, social worker or any other adult they may be working with at the time.

The safe place is a place where children are instructed, encouraged and supported in attending to their own emotional upsets through self-regulating activities. On the skill streaming side, we are focusing on asking for help, offering help and relaxing. Remember parents and students, it is important that we remain safe throughout the upcoming Holidays and dress for the inclement weather. May you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Este es el Sr. González informándoles que continuaremos trabajando con los Feeling Buddies; currículo de autorregulación para lo que resta de diciembre. Actualmente, estamos identificando las diferentes emociones de los compañeros de sentimientos y cómo experimentamos estas emociones a diario en el hogar y la escuela. Todas las aulas tienen un lugar seguro donde se encuentran los compañeros de sentimientos en una bolsa que cuelga de la pared. Cuando nuestros hijos se sienten felices, tristes, enojados o cualquiera de los muchos sentimientos que discutimos, pueden elegir un compañero de sentimientos para ayudarlos a identificar sus sentimientos. Esto también ayudará a procesar sus sentimientos con el maestro, el trabajador social o cualquier otro adulto con el que puedan estar trabajando en ese momento.

El lugar seguro es un lugar donde se instruye, alienta y apoya a los niños para que atiendan sus propios trastornos emocionales a través de actividades de autorregulación. En el lado de la transmisión de habilidades, nos estamos enfocando en pedir ayuda, ofrecer ayuda y relajarnos. In November we had our second cooking with math activity in the classroom! Students were able to help "cook" by adding ingredients to the crockpot and taste it once it was done. We had a great time making stone soup!

Thank you families for coming out to our first Lunch with Someone Special Event! It was so wonderful to see everyone and I know our students were very happy.
