Welcome Back 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Hybrid Students on Thursday, April 8th
3rd, 4th and 5th grade hybrid students will start on Thursday, April 8th.
We want you to know that the health, safety and well-being of all students and staff is at the top of our priority list!
Families, guardians and caregivers play an important role even before your student boards a bus or gets dropped off at school! Please be extra diligent in knowing when to keep your student home from school. We also ask that every morning before school, you follow the home-based student screening - see below.
We will send home copies of these protocols with your child(ren) the first day of school.
Bus Riders
Buses will be provided for families eligible for transportation. We’ll be running buses with fewer students, adhering to all social distancing guidelines and doing enhanced cleaning. All drivers and students will be required to wear a mask as per the Oregon Department of Education Requirements.
Routing Information: Our Transportation department is currently working on bus routes for students participating in In-Person Hybrid Instruction. Information related to route numbers, bus stops, and stop times will be available for viewing using the ELink function beginning March 29th.
Visual Screening: All riders will have a visual screening done by the bus driver upon entry to the bus. The driver will greet riders, record their attendance and do a visual evaluation. If a student exhibits or complains of any COVID-like symptoms, the child will be directed to sit in one of the first three rows of the bus, away from the rest of the students. Drivers will notify dispatch and dispatch will notify the school. These children will disembark first. A staff member will meet them and take them to the waiting room area.
Seating: The driver will direct the students where to sit, loading the bus from rear to front. We’ll make every effort to place one child per seat with members of the same household sitting together on the bus.
Cleaning & Ventilation: Buses will be cleaned after students from each school disembark. Additionally, buses will receive more rigorous cleanings after all routes are completed in the morning and afternoon with cleaning products approved by the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Department of Education in the Ready Schools, Safe Learners (RSSL) guidance.
In addition, at least three windows per side will be lowered to the red line, and roof hatches will be open to ensure extra airflow and ventilation.
Car Drop-Off/Pick-Up
For families who are dropping off or picking up their student, please note that we are asking all families to stay in their vehicle. Due to social distancing guidelines, we cannot have large groups of people congregating around the drop off and pick up areas.
Car Signs: To expedite this process, we use the color coded Car Signs as designated below:
- Green for 3rd
- Blue for 4th
- Purple for 5th
These will come home with your child(ren) the first day of Hybrid.

Nutrition Services
Our Nutrition Services department has been hard at work developing a plan for how to continue to provide free meals for all children during both Hybrid and CDL. The USDA has provided waivers for the rest of the school year that allow any child (ages 1-18) to access free meals.
Starting April 5, meal service via bus routes will be discontinued.
If you attend Hybrid Elementary School:
● Hybrid students can receive a free daily meal bag to take home.
● Two days of meals will be sent home on Tuesday.
● No registration is required.
You may opt your student out of meals by using the form attached below. Simply fill it out and return it to our front office.
