A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA
Week of December 16, 2019
NOTE: Noon Release on Friday!
A Message From Principal Grey
Dear Grant Community,
I am wishing you all and wonderful winter break with your families! As we close out 2019 and welcome 2020, I would like to thank each and every one of you for being a part of our Grant community. Your children bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and spirit to school every day and we know it is your love and support as their families that make them such a delight to teach.
I recently shared a short movie clip at a BEST assembly with our students and teachers to highlight the values of empathy, compassion, and generosity. I have included it below and hope that will set the tone for a wonderful holiday season for your families filled with love, sharing and kindness.
Sincerely,
Ms. Grey

Grant Cares, Donation Drive Underway
With the holidays upon us, our Grant Community Cares Team is mindful of some of our own Grant families that could use some holiday cheer and assistance. We will be collecting items for some specific Grant families and their specific needs. This is a great way for our children to actively participate in the season of giving. Our “Giving Tree” will be set-up this week in the office. Please consider donating by taking an ornament with an item needed. Return the item with the ornament attached in the basket in the office by December 18th. Thank you for helping us bring holiday joy to our own Shamrock families in need!
Last Chance - Lost & Found To Be Donated
Winter Break is coming fast. Everything in the Grant Lost and Found will be donated on Friday. You never know if your child's nicest jacket (the one they say is in their closet) actually ended up in there! So, please take a look at the racks and bins at drop off or pick up. It's all right outside the multi. Thank you!

The Holiday Shoppe was amazing again this year. It's quite an undertaking and we are so grateful to Maryann Pacheco, who lead the charge for the second year and Jessica Lewis, who stepped in to co-chair this event and did an amazing job. We can't say thank you to both of these Grant ladies enough.
A big Shamrock thank you to all the Holiday Shoppe volunteers: Isabel Melara, Kelly Garzelli, Anna Barrera, Marina Madick, Alexis Giromini, Elisa King, Rosalie Thompson, Katherine McCue, Alice Archer, Cheryl Johnson, Kodi O'Dwyer, Melina Long, Maira Emen, Kimberley Murillo, Elliott Connery, Diana O'Neill, Michael O'Neill, Patricia O'Neill, Lisa Johnson, Jill Brians, Tamara Zubic, Susan Philbin, and Katie Andrews. Special thanks to Anna Barrera, Alexis Giromini, and Marina Madick who answered our call for extra help.
Shamrock love goes to Alisha Basich, who jumped in to handle consolidating Holiday Sees Candies orders, then sorted and delivered to classes so everyone would have them in time for the holidays.
Big Thanks to Incavo Wine Lounge for wonderful dine & donate. We really appreciate you being a wonderful part of our community.
