A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA

Week of December 16, 2019

NOTE: Noon Release on Friday!

A Message From Principal Grey

Dear Grant Community,

I am wishing you all and wonderful winter break with your families! As we close out 2019 and welcome 2020, I would like to thank each and every one of you for being a part of our Grant community. Your children bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and spirit to school every day and we know it is your love and support as their families that make them such a delight to teach.

I recently shared a short movie clip at a BEST assembly with our students and teachers to highlight the values of empathy, compassion, and generosity. I have included it below and hope that will set the tone for a wonderful holiday season for your families filled with love, sharing and kindness.

Sincerely,

Ms. Grey

A short story on - kindness must see

Donation Driver Needed!

We are looking for one or more volunteers to help us take our collected canned foods to a local barrel in Petaluma to be collected by the Redwood Empire Food Bank. If you would like to volunteer to do this, please call us in the front office at (707) 778-4742 or email Shantina at swillits@petk12.org.

Thank you!

From the Grant PTA

We hope you all have a wonderful winter break and find yourself cozy and happy with your families. As we celebrate the holidays and the New Year, we recognize that together, we are making Grant an amazing place for our children. We are so thankful for all the time our Grant families spend volunteering and for all the donations to fund programs that support our Shamrocks. We look forward to more success in 2020!

Choose Grant on Amazon Smile

Still have some last minute shopping to take care of? Perhaps you plan to take advantage of New Year's deals? Giving to Grant has never been so easy.

*Go to smile.amazon.com and select Grant Elementary PTA in Petaluma. You can make the selection within your existing Amazon account as well. Amazon will give 0.5% to Grant. Since mid November, Grant-Amazon shoppers have amassed nearly 2k for the school! Let's keep it going!

Grant Cares, Donation Drive Underway

With the holidays upon us, our Grant Community Cares Team is mindful of some of our own Grant families that could use some holiday cheer and assistance. We will be collecting items for some specific Grant families and their specific needs. This is a great way for our children to actively participate in the season of giving. Our “Giving Tree” will be set-up this week in the office. Please consider donating by taking an ornament with an item needed. Return the item with the ornament attached in the basket in the office by December 18th. Thank you for helping us bring holiday joy to our own Shamrock families in need!

Last Chance - Lost & Found To Be Donated

Winter Break is coming fast. Everything in the Grant Lost and Found will be donated on Friday. You never know if your child's nicest jacket (the one they say is in their closet) actually ended up in there! So, please take a look at the racks and bins at drop off or pick up. It's all right outside the multi. Thank you!
