Weeden Teachers are Data Driven
Using formative data to drive classroom instruction.
Kindergarten
1st Grade
First grade teachers use data to drive their small group instruction, choose instructional resources, and create their Reading Clubs.
Reading Club is a time when students receive intensive instruction in a component of reading from a resource teacher. Students participate in Reading Club according to their individual needs.
2nd Grade Teachers Focus on Standards.
Second grade teachers use many tools to help drive their instruction. Skills Connection Online, a component of Performance Series, is used to create mini lessons for small group or individual instruction. Lessons are based on suggested learning objectives from the program.
Data notebooks are used to help students engage in their own learning by setting standards based goals and conferencing about their data with their teacher. When goals are mastered, students choose a new goal to continue their learning progression.
Second grade also creates student friendly learning targets to help students understand what they are learning. Learning targets incorporate 'I can' statements with standards in student friendly language.
3rd Grade Teachers Encourge Students to 'Do Your Best'!
Third grade uses Performance Series to help create individualized instruction. Based on standards identified by Performance Series, teachers utilize data to create instructional plans to address areas of weakness and help their students make academic gains.
Teachers also use Performance Series to create standards based, online quizzes that provide valuable information about instruction and learning.
Students also use data notebooks to set goals and track learning. Students partner with their teachers to create goals and revise these goals as they are mastered.
Third grade teachers always encourage their students to do their best and work to their full potential.
4th Grade Teachers Work Together to Support their Students.
