Hello Fox Family!

Your students have been achieving great things in music!

In class, our 2-5 graders have been focusing on expression and being musical beyond playing the correct notes and rhythms. Students are asked to play passages of music they already know technically, self-evaluate how they are playing it, and then change their performance to match the expression they want to convey.

Our K-1 students are doing a fantastic job with learning their first instruments of the year; Ukulele and Boomwhackers! This coming month we are focusing on treating all materials with care and singing by themselves.

Choir is rocking High Hopes, Happy, and the First Snow Falls! We cannot wait for our performances in the winter!

Last update I mentioned Rock Band for 4th and 5th. I will be sending out the flyers with Rock band information the week after Fall Break! Rock Band will be every Monday for the remainder of the year. Students can either use the instruments in the room or bring them from home!

Stay Awesome,

Ms. Grachek

Art Room Update:

Art Club:

Our first painting club is underway! Just a reminder if your child is already registered, we meet Monday afternoons from 2:50pm-3:30pm through the month of December.

This club had a great amount of interest and I will offer another opportunity in the spring!

Art to Remember:

Communication will be coming home in Thursday folders regarding how and when you can support the Fox Hollow Art program. Each year we partner up with “Art to Remember” to create a work of art that can be preserved and reproduced onto various products (t-shirts, water bottles, magnets, mugs, ornaments…and more). All orders can be placed online for your convenience. Your support is greatly appreciated!!!

Our engineers have been hard at work in the STEM lab! Check out the STEM website for information on all the amazing work happening! https://sites.google.com/cherrycreekschools.org/fhestem/home
Thank you so much to everyone who made Fox Hollow’s 2022 Field Day a HUGE SUCCESS! We could not have done it without all of the AMAZING volunteers – some who worked ALL day, and all the families who donated to the Fox Hollow P.E. Wish List! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!! We can’t wait until next year!

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I am asking for your help in protecting our students from the dangers of the “One Chip Challenge,” a social media challenge that has sent both children and adults to hospitals in several states.

In this challenge, people are encouraged to record and post their reaction as they eat a single tortilla chip seasoned with Carolina Reaper pepper and stinging Scorpion pepper. Eating these chips can cause serious reactions, including intense stomach pain, profuse vomiting, chest pain and difficulty breathing. Please talk with your students about the dangers of participating in these types of challenges and help them develop the skills they need to say no to dangerous activities.

Thank you so much for your partnership in keeping our students safe and healthy.

For families who need care, you can register with our school's program. See Section "Before and After School Care" for additional information.
