STEM Parents Meeting
Hello! We hope you will be able to join us this week for our STEM Parents Meeting at 5:00 on Wednesday, February 18th, in the Lecture Hall at school. Please bring your feedback and questions as Tony Zahn, Director of Science and Instructional Technology will be available.
Reading Benchmark Testing
Students will be taking their STAAR Reading Benchmark on Thursday, Feb. 19th. Please make sure students arrive to school on time, well rested and fed. :-) This will be part of the ELA grade for the fifth sixth weeks.
Report Cards will be sent home on Thursday.
Engineering Week:
Next week (Feb. 23-28th) is going to be a very exciting week for our STEM students! They will be participating in several lessons, activities and events all centered around Engineering Week. Please try to ensure that students are in class each day so that they don't miss the excitement! Here is what's planned:
Monday- Field trip to UTA
Tuesday- Guest Speaker and Design Challenge
Wednesday- UTD Rube Goldberg Experience
Thursday- Design Time and Discovery
Friday- Guest Speaker and Sphero Robot Experience
UTA Field Trip
Please make sure to complete and return the field trip permission form to school this week. We will visit UTA on Monday, February 23rd. Students will need to wear their RED STEM T-shirt. Busses and lunch are provided free of charge!
SciGirls Saturday
Our next SciGirls Saturday will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28th from 9:00-11:30. We will be working to create ScribbleBots! It should be a great way to wrap up Engineering week for our girls. Please complete the registration form so I can prepare supplies:
