Family Newsletter

Hello everyone-

I sent a Robinson Health Update email yesterday morning. I did not want the information to be missed or overlooked in the newsletter. One addition I should have included regarding absence reporting- you may continue to use the link to report any absence for your child illness related or not. If it is illness related, Mr. Shelton, our attendance secretary, will forward it to our nurse on duty. You do not have to email him directly at although you can either method is sufficient and you do not need to do both. Any Covid or health related questions or concerns should be emailed to me at and I will forward the message tot he nurse on duty. To complete the reporting a positive student Covid case use this form- Report a Positive Case

Thank you all for your attention regarding this change in process.

Please reach out at any time to share any questions, concerns, or ideas. I am here to help and support you and your family. Thanks for all you do to help keep our students and staff safe.

Take Care-

One Book, One School kickoff- The Winter Literacy Scavenger Hunt

As you know, we are a Title 1 building. As part of this funding we need to do a family engagement event each year. I'd like to start a new tradition and host an event that includes all staff, students, and families. We will be doing "One Book One School" as our Title 1 event. (I did not create this event, it is done across the US in many schools)

We will have our kickoff event on January 22nd from 9am -12 pm. As part of Robinson’s One Book One School Literacy Initiative, we are kicking things off with a little literacy fun and family/community togetherness. We’re so excited you’re joining the Robinson Scavenger Hunt fun! We hope these challenges bring you lots of laughter and joy throughout, all while reminding you of the power of reading.

One of the stops will be at the Turner building with me to hand out your free copy of the book Wishtree and other materials. Students who do not participate in the weekend event will receive their materials at school on Monday the 24th. Students will also come by school to hear a story read aloud by Dr. Ulrich and pick up cocoa. There are many other fun stops for the event, please see the detailed sheet below.

A few encouragements:

  • Wear Robinson red so that we see one another out and about and can wave and cheer for each other!

  • Mask expectations should be honored per any establishment’s requirements.

Make this interactive! Share, view, like, and comment on pictures and videos of Scavenger Hunt fun via this link. Please note that pictures and videos are only accessible to those with this link. Also, thank you for keeping comments positive and family friendly!

One Book, One School will last for a month. During this month we are asking that teachers play the clip of the reading for the day. Families will also have access to the clip to read along with their child at home (I will be posting the videos for each day in the weekly newsletters). We will have a culminating event after school in partnership with the PTO on February 23rd.

The Robinson PTO Needs Your Help!

Have you ever heard of parent and staff-sponsored parties? It's as simple as selecting a party idea, signing up to host and then bringing the party to life for kids, adults or families. Robinson families will sign-up or bid on the events you donate. These parties are a great way to meet people and interact with the Robinson community all while raising funds for the school. They also happen to be one of the most popular Trivia Night items and provide a fun experience for both students and adults. But we can't pull them off without you! The included form has examples of parties you can host (or you can add a new creative idea). Complete the form and send to

Thank you so much for hosting an event!

Reporting Postive Covid Cases

Per our commitment to transparency throughout the pandemic, the KSD COVID Dashboard will continue to provide information about positive cases in the District. View the dashboard by visiting

The primary role of the dashboard is to provide data specific to the potential for in-school transmission. One of the ways we can ensure the dashboard is as up-to-date as possible is quick and accurate reporting of any student that tests positive for COVID. Families can self report a positive case by using the form below:

Report a Positive Case

Thank you for your assistance in ensuring our data is as current as possible.

Additionally, St. Louis County provides a map by zip code and school district to track community cases. It's available at:
