We have tickets reserved for 105 seats. We plan to leave VAMS at 8:00. Following the performance, students will be eating lunch at CiCi’s Pizza in McKinney. Parents are welcome to join us for lunch. 2nd Quarter Testing Schedule

Wednesday, December 16- Social Studies
Next Tuesday, we will be taking a field trip to see a live performance of A Christmas Carol! The students are looking forward to this trip , and it will definitely be experience for them to be apart of. Next week students will be researching Victorian London (the setting of A Christmas Carol) and will complete character sketches for their chosen character.
Our 2nd Quarter Assessment will be on Monday, December 14th. Corrections will be due on Thursday, December 17th.
We have many students who have been purchasing books through Scholastic Reading Club, and I have been stocking our classroom library as well. If any are interested in ordering online, please click the button and it will take you to their website.
The last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind! We wrapped up the “A Rose for Emily” unit right before Halloween. This short story was so much fun to work with. We re-created the ending scene with Mrs. Hensley’s skeletal buddy, Max, as Homer Barron. With eerie music and fog, the story came to life in the classroom- what fun!
Last week, we wrote spooky stories and presented them while we sat in a circle on the floor with flashlights!!! These oral presentations were very creative and perfect for a haunted holiday. I continue to be blown away with your child’s creativity and attention detail…they are amazing!
In the next two weeks, we are buckling down and digging into grammar and punctuation. How boring, right? Well, I am planning to spice it up a little…
Along with all of our engaging lessons, we are rapidly preparing for our Veteran’s Day program. My group has been working to design, create, and write cards for our local veterans. They have been very diligent in their efforts. I cannot wait to see the finished product! If you know a veteran, please be sure to bring them to this special event.
As always, I am so proud of your child! They are out-of-this-world, but I know that is only because of you and your amazing support. Middle school is tough. There are lots of activities and assignments. Rigor increases drastically. In the beginning, there was a bit of a learning curve, but I am confident we are on the right track. Keep on doing what you’re doing, because it is working.
Thank you for being phenomenal!!!
I am always available before and after school if you want to chat~
Make it a GREAT Week!

In math, we have been studying proportional relationships in geometry. We have studied similar figures and how to use them to find measurements in the real world that are too big or too inconvenient to measure in person. We will be applying scale to maps, blueprints, and models next week. The students will choose their favorite college and apply scale to create a drawing of the logo. The college scale drawing will be due December 17th. We will work on most of the college logo scale drawing in class.
Our math quarterly test is scheduled for December 15th. There is a review on Study Island that is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to properly prepare for the test.

This nine weeks 7th grade Science is exploring all of organ systems of our incredible body! We have been studying the circulatory and respiratory systems; the structure and function of each and how they work together to provide our cells with oxygen. We are creating a 3D paper model of a body with the respiratory system, heart, digestive system, liver and excretory system (kidneys and bladder).
