A Message From Dr. Susan Coleman
Dear Golf School District 67 Staff:
It has been five months since the Golf 67 community welcomed me as the new superintendent. I am often asked if I knew then what I know now, would I have made this move. I can answer, unequivocally--yes!
Even during this pandemic, my love and admiration for the staff, students, families and board members continues to grow. Our ability to problem solve, tackle tough issues, and make even harder decisions is nothing short of amazing. Our entire staff has wrapped themselves around the social and emotional needs of students and their families. As a District, we have experienced great loss and illness, and only through the strength of our resolve have we been able to support our community during this pandemic. While these are challenging times, they are also times of great innovation and creativity. Nothing will replace in-person learning and giving our students the opportunity to collaborate, curate, and communicate face-to-face. However, our students have learned very important skills that are essential to future success. These include technology skills, independence, and perseverance. I could not be more proud of our staff and the flexibility and dedication they demonstrate on a daily basis. Whether our students are hybrid, remote, or both, they never skip a beat.
I want to thank the community and the Board of Education for their confidence and trust in my leadership and the expertise of our staff. As we move into the holiday season, please take a moment to reflect on those who have suffered.
I wish all of you a happy and healthy new year. Remember to be safe: wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance.
Yours in Service,
Dr. Susan Coleman
Superintendent
